Mendrix is an advanced transport management system that helps transport companies efficiently manage and track their logistics processes. It offers real-time tracking, automated route planning and a range of other features that streamline the logistics workflow. The challenge was to seamlessly integrate Kerstboomthuisgeleverd’s WooCommerce platform with the Mendrix system.

API integration between WooCommerce and the Mendrix API

To achieve this integration, I built a custom WordPress plugin. This plugin acts as a bridge between WooCommerce and the Mendrix EGCS API. The process starts when a customer places an order through Kerstboomthuisgeleverd’s WooCommerce store. The plugin captures that order and converts the relevant data into a format compatible with Mendrix.

The plugin then uses the Mendrix API to send the order data straight to the transport management system. This happens in real time, so Kerstboomthuisgeleverd can respond to new orders immediately. Thanks to this integration, orders are automatically pulled into Mendrix’s route planning, resulting in a significant saving of time and a real boost in efficiency.

Automated error checking

The plugin also comes with error-checking mechanisms. If any communication issues arise between WooCommerce and Mendrix, the system automatically sends out alerts so Kerstboomthuisgeleverd’s team can step in right away. This keeps the workflow reliable and smooth.

User-friendly admin interface

On top of that, I built a user-friendly interface inside the WordPress environment, so Kerstboomthuisgeleverd’s team can easily track and manage order status. All of this adds up to a streamlined, efficient and modern approach to order management and logistics.
